The tower marks the top end of Texel, past De Cocksdorp and beyond where most day-trippers turn around. You can climb it for a small fee, and from the gallery the island reads as what it is: a sandbank with dunes down one side and polder down the other, with open water beyond. Beach poles 31 and 32 sit below it, which makes this a natural end point for a ride up the island rather than a stop on the way to something else.
