D'Olle Grieze, the Old Grey One, has stood over the market square for more than five centuries. The climb is close to three hundred stone steps up a steep, narrow spiral with no lift, which is the reason to be honest about it: this is a physical thing to do, and most people are inside for over an hour. On a clear day the reward is a view that runs out past the last houses into open farmland. There is a card reader at the gate and no cash.
