An 1743 grain mill on the old city rampart, furnished as a working home and open to the cap.
Most windmill visits in this country are exterior affairs; this one you go up, floor by floor, from the miller's kitchen and bedstead on the ground level through the grain lofts to the cap where the whole mechanism turns. It is the difference between photographing a windmill and understanding one, and it takes about an hour. The stairs get steeper the higher you go, which is worth knowing before you start with small children or bad knees.
