Leiden's civic museum in the 1640 cloth guild building, holding early Rembrandt and Lucas van Leyden.
Rembrandt was born a few streets away and the paintings here are the ones he made before he knew what he was doing, which is a rarer thing to be able to see than the masterpieces. Lucas van Leyden's Last Judgement triptych, hidden during the 1574 siege and never lost, is the other reason to come. The building was where cloth merchants had their product inspected and stamped, and the museum still tells that story alongside the art.
