Objects from across the world in a former Royal Yacht Club building on the Willemskade, shown with their acquisition histories.
The collection was assembled during the Dutch colonial period and the museum no longer presents that quietly: labels name how things arrived, restitution cases are discussed on the wall, and several galleries are built around that argument rather than around geography. It rewards reading and is a poor choice if you want to move fast. Ninety minutes is comfortable; the Willemskade location puts the Erasmusbrug about ten minutes' walk away.
