A tornado flattened the unfinished nave in 1674 and nobody rebuilt it, which is why the tower stands separately across an open square — the gap is the missing church. Inside there is no ticket and no queue, only a very large Gothic interior, the Pandhof cloister garden through a door on the south side, and a scale that the tower climb does not prepare you for. It costs nothing and takes twenty minutes, which makes it the best-value half hour in the city.
